As experts in heritage works, HGN were engaged to manufacture and install the GRC elements of the balcony reconstruction.
The works reinstate the two-storey balcony to Hay and King Streets, with the modules replicating the original balconies that were removed in 1953.
The balconies were constructed off site, in transportable modules to minimise disruption to His Majesty’s day-to-day operations.
We installed some elements off site, with the remaining elements installed once the modules had been placed in position.
Comprising of 14 modules across two levels, weighing in at 19 tonnes each, each module was carefully installed to the Theatre's iconic heritage façade.
